S. ELYSHA LUKEN is a partner in the Tallahassee office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP.  Elysha represents contractors, suppliers, owners, and sureties in public and private construction disputes, contract drafting and negotiations, bid protests, licensure, lien and bond claims, and other legal matters related to the business of construction and contracting.  Elysha has appeared  in state and federal courts, arbitration and administrative proceedings, and provides representation in both trials and appeals.  Elysha lectures on AIA contracts and legal aspects of construction scheduling, writes on construction industry topics, and currently serves on The Florida Bar Journal/News Editorial Board. 

 

Elysha received her B.A. degree from the University of Florida, and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Florida State University.  Elysha served as Legislative Editor and Editorial Board member for the Florida State University Law Review and received several book awards.  In law school Elysha worked in the Florida Senate and the Public Defender's Office, clerked for the Second Judicial Circuit Court.  Prior to joining Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP, Elysha worked as a Staff Attorney at the Florida Supreme Court.
