MAURA K. ANDERSON is an associate in the
Ft. Lauderdale
office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana in 1991 and her Masters of Arts in Psychology from Valparaiso University,
Valparaiso, Indiana
in 1992. Ms. Anderson obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Emory University in
Atlanta, Georgia
in 1996.
Prior to joining Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP in 2004, Ms. Anderson worked for the Fulton County District Attorney's office in
Atlanta, Georgia
. While at the District Attorney's office, Ms. Anderson was assigned to the specialized Major Crimes unit where she served as sole prosecutor in over 25 homicide trials. Ms. Anderson has extensive trial experience having served as lead prosecutor in over 90 jury trials and 50 bench trials during her 8 year career in criminal prosecution.
Since joining Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP, Ms. Anderson has handled a variety of construction claims and disputes representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, and surety companies. Ms. Anderson has assisted clients in every phase of the construction process, from the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts to complex construction litigation. She has assisted clients in a variety of disputes including construction defects, liens, delay damages, project administration, and bid protests.
